The Audio Track Saved You.

When I first began watching, I realized the audio sounded familiar, though the credit to WKUK didn't help me out much as I don't believe I've listened to any of their other stuff. I've heard this one before though (and possibly even seen it animated by someone else).

The actual animation and drawings were uninteresting. Typical stick people a la Cyanide and Happiness. The animation was decent, but in terms of visuals, I was extremely annoyed at how you simply layered the face details onto the heads so that the blood spatter appeared the same when a character's mouth was open (instead of having an empty mouth). It didn't look polished and it would have been relatively easy to avoid.

The gun was ugly and I've seen it too many times.

I didn't feel like the lip sync was very good, but as you say - it's one of the first movies you lip synced, so by that regard you did well.

Despite having an audio track that you simply had to stick in, you actually had audio clipping issues. Considering you didn't even record the track and I guarantee there is nothing wrong with the track, you should have played around a bit to fix it considering you did something to break it.

All in all it was just OK. I feel like more effort should have been made on your end to entertain rather than relying on the audio to win your laughs.

Niceness.

This one's really COOL.

When I say COOL, I mean it in the proper sense of the word. Not COOL like cold, not COOL like "hey that was COOL" but COOL like "I'm the biggest dick motherfucker you know. Be COOL, brother."

Awesome work. I could see myself sharing a dance with the old man over your headless body.

Catoblepas responds:

ROFL get in the line man.

LOL

Ahahaha, I loved it.

It wasn't as filthy-dirty-funny as Vomit, perhaps, but it was still gory and charming. I love how you play upbeat music while all the violence goes on. It makes it all so much more fun.

Nice work! I look forward to seeing more from you. Always remember me as your first fan.

Fived!

P.S. Excellent penis mutilation!

Oreogazmic responds:

Thanks! YOU'll ALWAYS BE MY # 1 FAN!!! that sounds kinda gya but its true!
The penis mutilation is pretty awesome

Interesting.

I quite enjoyed it. I definitely see the David Firth influence other people are talking about, specifically when the two characters are conversing inside the green room. I loved the audio you chose for that as well.

I like what you've done with my song. It definitely has a melancholic feel to it, and you really got that.

I really love the color combination of yellow and pink. It looks really good when the man is walking across and the pink trees are blowing in the wind.

I just have a few criticisms: At the beginning, when the worm opens its mouth and speaks, I find it's too big of a jump from the silence to that sound. Also, the sound was a little bit harsh.

Nice work! I look forward to seeing more from you.

Ham-head responds:

Thanks for taking the time to review this :D.
Its cool that you bother to look at what people do with your music.
Thanks for the song too.
Byes!

Deliciously Gratuitous Filth and Violence

Hahaha, nice job. Very enjoyable. It was good fun. Is this really your first flash? It's much better than the majority of firsts I see arriving in the Portal. You should definitely make some more!

I'm so glad it finally passed!

Oreogazmic responds:

yeah yeah!!! thanks for the support.

YES.

I've been waiting for your next submission quite impatiently. I am so mofuckin pleased! I love the major switch you take in this one; it begins very up-beat and happy and then the downward spiral begins.

The shit in the hospital is just amazingly freaky. Scary stuff -- WELL DONE. Those who know me know I have a thing for fetuses, so I was immediately pleased when I saw the title.

Nice work. I love what you do.

Catoblepas responds:

Tsk tsk! :D

Yes those treacherous fetuses.

Cute.

Nice animation. I really enjoyed the voice acting, but you had some big sound problems -- it was cracking all over the place which made it a little rough on the ears.

I liked the joke, but I thought it would have been funnier (maybe I prefer dark humor) if, after the bearded man mentioned that the 'cage' was actually a fan, you threw in a close up of the bird who was completely butchered by the blades. It would sit on that image for about two seconds, maybe have a leg twitch, and then go back to the silent face of the protagonist, who would have a horrified look on his/her face.

Also, with or without that idea, I think it would have been good if the blades of the fan were shown moving.

Nice work! I know that's a lot of critique, but I did enjoy your submission quite a bit. 4/5

Beautiful.

I loved it. You created an awesome atmosphere with the combination of music and imagery. GREAT shadows, and blur. Nice landscapes. I loved the song!

Just a really nice, relaxed piece. Well done.

Neat style.

I very much liked your animation. It was very charming, and I really liked your drawing style.

Nice job on the sound (though I wish you hadn't compressed it as much). I liked how the robot sang a cappella.

Overall a nice enjoyable little animation.

Excellent.

I saw this yesterday as it entered the portal (fived it), but I wasn't sure if I should leave a review because I didn't quite know what to say. I just now saw your news post advertising it on the front page and, as I am reminded of it and watch it again, I am sure it deserves a review, whether or not I am able to make it a good one.

I love what you've done here. You have absolutely brilliant imagery, and wonderfully stylish drawings. I very much enjoy how you used the plaid background for the girl's shirt (and the lettering for the character I like to call Theatre Face). The final effect looks great. The blur used on the butterflies/moths/insects was well done. As well as all these pluses, you are a master at showing things grow. If I wanted a tree to grow out of my head, I would ask you for help.

Overall, great smooth animation. The only problem I had was that, in the shot of the pasture in the wind, the grass and wheat (as well as their movement) were a little bit stiff. I wasn't crazy about the protagonist seeing her face with etched out eyes and mouth either, just because it felt a little bit cliché.

Nice music choice, though I know that was never an issue; after all, the video is named after the song, and so I assume it was inspired by it. I wasn't particularly crazy about the louder parts of the song, though - the more, for lack of a better word, 'screamo' moments. I just felt that they took me out of the mood. That's kind of beyond your control, though - you didn't write the song. It's hardly fair to judge a work like this based primarily on music, and I'm not going to do that :)

Brilliant piece. You have great talent, and this is definitely proof of artists on Newgrounds. Front page material.

I am the video word made flesh.
