Very very nice.

I loved this. You create a really nice atmosphere, and I love the way the melody works with the bassline from 0:15 - 0:30.

Although it's extremely repetitive, I didn't get bored. I'm guessing that's because of the high level of quality and short length. I'd love to hear it as a full song, though.

Great effects and work on your sounds; it sounds awesome.

Love it :D

cycerin responds:

Woop woop. Thanks for the quite awesome review. :D

LOVED it.

Awesome song! Extremely unique.

I love your synths. They're very nostalgic. It's hard to use those older-sounding instruments well and effectively, but you seem to have done it.

I really enjoyed the overall sound of it. I can tell you put a lot of effort into it - there seems to be a lot going on; it's very complex.

Loved the breaks and changes you put in there.

I actually don't know what I could even suggest... I very much liked this piece, and I feel I should really check out some of your other music, which I'll get to.

GREAT job. You get a five, my friend :D

Short-Factor responds:

Thank you, I didn't know anyone would like my music so much this quickly!

Best loop I've heard :D

I've got to say, this sounds fucking awesome. Awesome beat, love the synth. Great sounds.

I've been listening to it over and over. That could be why it's such a good loop. It's like a really repetitive song that doesn't get old. Btw, nice job on the loop - can barely hear where it cuts, if at all.

I can imagine the song being continued, though. I hear similarities to some other music (like Prodigy).

You're right about it being hard to classify. I don't really see it as industrial though; it sounds more like techno or DnB to me.

Amazing shit.

apimusic responds:

I had trouble classifiying it because it doesn't sound like either techno or drum 'n bass. Industrial sounded like my best bet. I was thinking miscellaneous, but I wante-

whatever, thanks for the review.

Some nice sounds.

To be honest, I really dislike Slayer. It just usually doesn't sound very good; it's too raw, especially without any effects.

If you're going to use Slayer, try to alter it as much as you can. If you really work at it, you can get some unique sounds with it (though you had some nice stuff going on with the alternating instruments and delay at points).

The same goes for your other instruments. Try to add effects to them to make them more distinct and different. You'll see that a world of possibility opens up with effects :)

Try to stay away from using the FL default drums, too. Especially if you're not going to alter them. There are some better FL drum samples, but you should really try to make some samples for yourself or find free ones on the net.

My favorite sound in this piece was the stringy pad that came in at the beginning. It has a very beautiful, soft feel to it.

Overall, not a bad piece at all, but with some touching up on effects, it could be awesome. I still think it kind of worked though, since it's a video game track.

You get a five for support :) Keep working at it. You've got good potential.

Darthfett responds:

Thanks for the lengthy review! I dislike slayer a lot as well. I can't stand how hard it is to use, and it usually never comes out sounding very good either. However, in this song, there is no slayer whatsoever.

This is one of my first songs, and I have been working on it in small pieces over about 2-3 years. This is about the 2 year mark, but now that I've learned much more about effects, I have changed a few things, though many of the samples remain the same, as they're irreplaceable! :P

I really need to update the information. It's not so much a video game track, as it is a few pieces of the original song

Again, thanks for the lengthy review! :D

Nicely done.

The guitar sounds great. I had some trouble with the drums though; they weren't clear enough for me, I found the kick to be too quiet at times(keep in mind that I have shitty speakers - it could be my bad).

I don't listen to much metal, but the music was quite good. Nice job :D

Thanks for the review

Nice synths.

I loved your synths, but I felt like some instruments could have used some tweaking; mainly the piano. I can't quite put my finger on what it is about the piano that didn't work for me - it just sounded too fake I guess.

I liked your chords because they were not typical at all. Actually, they were quite strange.

I thought you could have used some heavier drums at points. It really might have added a nice effect.

Nice sound effects, too. Good job overall.

baller9hundred responds:

thats a good take on the piano, i actually used a plugin which is purposely slightly detuned to add to the effect, that's probably what you're hearing. Thanks for the ffedback, i'm glad you like it.

Woah...

Love all the effects and sounds... really nice dark sound.

You really know how to create an atmosphere, which is crucial to the Ambient genre.

One thing that could maybe use some improvement on (and even then, it's not that bad as is) is the drums. They're just a tad bit too generic and plain sounding. The reverb on them sounds great, but maybe they could use some variation or a little complication.

This song makes me thing of NIN's "Something I Can Never Have," or another of their earlier works. It's not so much about the melodies, but the effects and sounds have a similar quality to them; the drums are slightly reminiscent as well because I believe a drum machine was used on several of their tracks.

Another area that could be worked on is the overall structure of the song. It all sounds great, but there's not really any basic form to it. Just different parts put together. I feel like it could go on a lot longer too.

I'm going to assume it's supposed to be short because it's an intro (as stated in the title). I hope that it really is only an intro because I'd love to hear it go on.

Great stuff here. Keep it up.

P.S. I listened to "To The Grave." Some great vocals. A lot of potential there; you've got talent.

Benjerama responds:

Wow, i am honored. NIN has an amazing sound to them, and if you think i sound anything like them at all, that's great!

But yes, the first part was the intro, which i plan on extending a bit, and the other part was the song that is going to follow it. I plan on putting lyrics in the second part, but i'm still working that out.

And thank you for the comment about the vocals i posted. I was kinda unsure about the whole singing thing, but if you think they're alright than i guess i'll continue with it.

Alright, thanks again!
Good to hear from ya!

Woah - well done.

Awesome submission. Everything seems to be really well balanced, and it's a nice original mix; you didn't just remake the song, you changed it.

I'm sure I've heard this one before because my brother has the game. You can hear that it's a song from KH, but it still sounds very unique.

Nice job. The only thing you could have MAYBE done is added a little more variation to the beat once in a while, but I think the song is fine as is. I don't know the original very well either, so perhaps you were just trying to keep a similar beat.

Either way, great track :D

Everlasting-Elements responds:

I wanted this to have a classical feel, at first. I decided not to though, because the original is somewhat more classical. So I tried to spice this song up with a dance-y/techno, and then add a hip hop/ techno beat.
I bet you have heard it before, but I'm not sure if it was used in the movie or anything like that, of the peter pan movie.
The beat was just something I made to go slow, because I didn't want it to sound fast paced, so I slowed it down with the beat. The only beats that were the same, was the crash and the tamberine (sp?)
Thanks for the review dude, I appreciate it a lot!

Cool sounds.

I loved the deepness to your kick. Actually, I really liked the way your drums sounded overall; they weren't too generic.

The synths had nice atmospheric qualities to them too. My only beef is that some of them don't blend with each other as well as they could. What I mean by that is some of them are more clear than others, so it sounded strange at times. I still loved all the sounds independently though.

Good melodies going on, but at some points they sounded slightly cluttered when working off each other (not too much, though). Still a very nice tune.

Very easy to listen to. Nice and soft :) Keep it up.

XDragonslayerX responds:

Thanks for the review. Merry Christmas!

Good stuff.

I really like this beat. It's got a lot of potential.

Your biggest problem is length. This thing's too short! I'm sure you could make it longer. This felt like it was just a beginning. You could continue it and progressively add heavier sounds to it until it reaches a dance climax.

I loved the sounds, really phat stuff. Great melody going on.

I didn't really like the "Reach Out" vocal, because it sounded a little too cheesy and slightly out of place.

You should work on this one. I think if you put more time into it, it could be amazing.

Great job :)

Gusto responds:

thank you :) Ill have to work on it some more when I get the time!

I am the video word made flesh.
