60 seconds to nightfall

"Decent game."

date: April 23, 2007

HORRIBLE song, though. I know you just looked at whatever was on top of the AP charts at the time, but you have to know that scores in the AP don't mean everything.

The game itself was alright. Nothing spectacular. You could have used some in-game sound (besides that God-awful song), and some collision would have been nice (instead of just overlapping balls).

Worth passing, but barely. If you choose to touch up this game, the first thing I'd recommend is changing the music >_>

Author's Response:

I liked the music, and some others seem too as well, although many find it annoying. Also I took a good 45 mins or so looking for suitable music but I couldn't find any! I was determined to use the AP though.

At the Restaurant

"Short but sweet."

submission: At the Restaurant
date: April 22, 2007

Well done. Good voice acting, but I feel like maybe you could have thrown in a crack or two with the dialogue. Nice animation, even though your characters were kind of stiff in their movement. Well delivered.

You get a five.

That was beautiful.

So much beauty made my ass cry tears and my eyes shit.... well ... shit.

30 Hour Limitation

"Great stuff, guys :D"

submission: 30 Hour Limitation
date: April 8, 2007

Nice collab, here. I loved every contribution to the overall flash. Well done ^_^

The only thing that bothered me (and it's not even a big thing) is when the song stops - it seemed kind of abrupt. A fade out might have worked better.

Other than that, I have no criticism. Smooth flash, and nice job with the main menu - Bios were a nice touch.

Author's Response:

Oh hey snake. What can I get for 5$?

Also, thanks for review.

"Very nice."

submission: A.N.U.S. News 0

Great stuff here. Very decent humor - not amazing, but enough for a smile. Great sound quality, and nice, original graphics.

You've got talent. Keep making movies :)

The Sickest Trick Ever

"Deja vu..."

date: April 8, 2007

I feel like I've seen this before o_O Maybe it's just me....

All around, very good. I don't have much in terms of constructive criticism other than suggesting that you get a better quality mic or up your sound quality.

The filesize limit here is 10 Mb, so there's no reason to compress all the way down to 450 Kb.

On Your Mark pt.1

"Beautiful."

submission: On Your Mark pt.1
date: April 2, 2007

Awesome piece here. I absolutely loved the visuals. Very artsy. Great choices of music. They worked wonderfully.

My biggest beef was sound, mostly because certain sounds were repeated or very common.

Amazing job :D

By the way, you might have been able to submit it as one. When you have a file that is larger than the limit, but you don't want to separate it, contact Tom and see what he can do. If your flash is good enough (as I believe this one is), he sometimes will make an exception.

Cling

"Woah, smooth FBF. Nice."

submission: Cling
date: March 24, 2007

Some of the smoothest FBF animation I've seen. Nice, high framerate.

My brother made a few FBF films, so I know how much of a long and tiresome process it is. Great job. It looked awesome.

Your biggest problem was the music. It really wasn't very good, and it didn't work with the video very well either. Also, I would have liked the submission to be a little longer, but I understand it was just a small project of yours.

Good job. You've got skills.

Red Mirage

"AWESOME work."

submission: Red Mirage
date: March 20, 2007

You've really got a talent. I very much enjoyed this piece. Great work :D

I loved the visuals; very stylistic. The music was wonderful, and it worked perfectly with this particular film.

It's too bad you didn't use ANY sound effects or voices. It might have been a nice touch (especially since your characters seemed to be speaking at points). However, I think if you altered it a bit, you wouldn't need the sound - cut out some of the mouth movement or add subtitles if needed.

Great to see you're thinking of submitting a finished piece with voices.

Another thing about sound, you shouldn't leave space at the end of your film if the song isn't done; fade out the song yourself or find out how to stop it when it's time to replay ;)

Some of your animations/drawings weren't as good as others, and it kind of took away from the overall picture. If you keep on working with this piece, you could make it stunning.

After a while, I must admit, it started to get a little boring, but overall you did an amazing job. Kudos.

I voted 4.

Welcome to Mars

"Awesome..."

submission: Welcome to Mars
date: March 13, 2007

You are an extremely talented artist. I loved the visuals and overall atmosphere to this piece. It's obvious that your art is stronger than your animation, but that can be improved with time (and you did say this is old; maybe you've gotten better).

Great choices of music (hehe), but I feel like their transitions weren't very smooth. Of course, I'll take into account that this isn't a finished submission, but it's pretty good, and I'm sure with extra work it could be amazing. Kind of wished the beginning with my song lasted longer :P

I love the scene in space. The music worked perfectly with it; probably the most beautiful part in the film.

Overall an awesome work... It's too bad you're not planning on finishing it :(

Easily the best submission I've seen featuring my music :)

Author's Response:

wow thanks! I'm a big fan of your work and after hearing it, I felt compelled to make the opening scene that would eventually become this. So thanks for inspiring me! I wish I could finish it, but I'm bogged down with other projects.
